Yosemite Part 4 - Tioga Road

Olmsted Point
The Tioga Road and high country area of Yosemite is cleared of snow and open late May through November. The 39 mile scenic Tioga Road is the only road in the Park to cross the Sierra Nevada's.

One of the Park's most spectacular vistas can be seen on Olmsted Point, where we witnessed the immense power of the glaciers. We took an excellent short hike here to see the sights.

Tenaya Lake, at around 8,000 foot elevation, is yet another example of a park feature that was created by the glaciers.

It was an all day drive to the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada's so we decided to stay overnight. We found a lovely little bed and breakfast called Cinnamon Bear Inn in Mammoth Lakes, California.
We had a homey corner room complete with a poster bed and private bath. Pam, the proprietor, made us each a fresh white chocolate, macadamia nut with roasted pecan waffle for breakfast. Ummmm.
