Yesterday one of the local ranchers contacted the Refuge to report an injured Barn Owl. It appears he damaged his wing on barbed wire fence. After retrieval our manager arranged for us to deliver this handsome bird to rapture rehabilitation personnel in Idaho Falls.

WOW. I hate to see the owl injured, but I would love an opportunity to get that close to one and study it.
We enjoyed watching him. He was very relaxed and calm during the trip. A once on a lifetime experience.
