Cedar Breaks National Monument and Kodachrome Basin State Park

CEDAR BREAKS NATIONIAL MONUMENT
On Sunday we went to Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar City. After church and grocery shopping we took Scenic Byway 148 which takes you to Cedar Breaks.
Visitor Center
Dramatic 3-mile Wide Amphitheater
Hoodoos

KODACHROME BASIN STATE PARK
Kodachrome Basin is a spectacle of towering sandstone spires and chimneys. This small state park has several short hikes. We chose to take the 1.5 mile Angel's Palace Trail. We were going to take the Shakespeare Arch-Sentinel Trail as well, but this delicate arch collapsed in April. What a loss.
This sedimentary pipe rises from the basin floor.
The trail was fractured and hard to follow at the top.

That is a beautiful area. We've been through there many times. I love the slot canyons.
